1. General memory

   • Multi store model
     • Supports
       • Serial Position curve/free recall
       • Brain damaged patients
         • Brain damage Patients have shown to have a damage LTM/STM but there STM/LTM works normaly showing they must be located in different parts of the brain
           • KF
             • Normal LTM but damage STM only has a digit span on two
           • HM
             • Normal STM but damage LTM
     • Criticisms
       • Too Simple, Doesnt take into account how people remember memories they do not rehearse
       • No biological link to structure and chemicals

2. STM

   • Working memory model
     • Supports
       • Dual-task performance
         • Performance of two simultaneous tasks requiring the use of two separate systems is nearly as effective as doing the two individually. when doing two tasks that use the same system that can not be done as effiently 
       • Brain imaging suggests that use different part of the working memory model uses diffent parts of the brain
     • Criticisms
       • There is little experiemental support for the slave components, A capacity is said to but not known
       • Research shows there in differences in peoples working memory, E.G. attention, duration and capacity this leads to differenses in reading, writing ect but it is not clean why this happened

3. LTM

   • Supps
     • Brain scans
       • Brain scans show different parts of the brain are used when using different types of LTM
     • HM
       • HM had a damage temporal lobe and NO hipicampus, But it was found that he could learn knew skills over time even though he had no memory of practising them
