Diffusion
- Area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
- Bromine gas can diffuse from one gas jar to another:
- Ammonia and Hydrogen chloride gases can diffuse through a long tube.
  - - The ring forms nearer to the hydrogen chloride because ammonia is a smaller particle and therefore diffuses more quickly
Elements, Compounds and Mixtures
- Element is made of 1 type of atom
  - e.g. Sodium (Na)
    - Hydrogen (H)
      - Carbon (C)
- Compound is formed when 2 or more elements are chemically combined
  - Not easily separated
    - e.g. Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
      - Copper Sulphate (CuSO4)
      - Magnesium + Oxygen ---> Magnesium Oxide
        2 Mg + O2 ---> 2MgO
- Mixtures
  - Mixture is two or more substances physically mixed not chemically combined
    - Easily separated
      - e.g. Air (Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, argon)
        Sea Water (Salt and water)
