Glanzer and Cunitz 1966
Aim: To see how long the STM lasts for. To see how position affects how well you remember items in a list
Method: Gave participants a list of 20 words. They then asked them to recall as many as they could
Results: People remembered the first few (primacy effect) because they were well rehearsed and the last few because of them still being in the STM (the recency effect)
Conc: If you give people a list they remember the first and last items the best
