Groundwater can be extracted for human use
- 70% of Earth' surface is covered by water, but more than 97% of that water is found in the oceans as salt water
☞ The remainder, less than 3%, is fresh water (water we can consume)
☞ Of this 3%, nearly 3/4s of this freshwater is aboveground, but is mostly in glaciers (not available for consumption)
