Referendum= A yes or no question posed to the public as a vote on a specific issue.
~> Form of direct democracy
~> Regional vote- Qualifications to vote are the same as for a general election
1975- Vote to stay in/ leave the European Economic Commission
Government is not in control of the phrasing of the question- boundaries committee does this
