Activity: How Native Alaskans adapt
- This week you are going to write an essay.
- But first, read the article about Alaskan native communities. You can find it under ''Resources'' in week 4.

- You have read the first article.
- - Write down your thoughts on it. How does it make you feel?
- - Find 3 other articles about this topic. Make sure you find articles that you can use for your essay. You can find on: www.theguardian.com / www.bbc.com / www.reuters.com / www.frontiersin/org / your own findings.
- - Use the 3 articles and the one given by your teacher to write your essay. See the next slide for the requirements.

- Step 1: Start making notes in the articles. Write down or highlight anything you want to use in your own essay. Collect all the information.
- Step 2: Write an introduction.
- Step 3: Organize your information in 3 paragraphs. Where do you want to write what?
- Step 4: Write a conclusion.
- Step 5: Reread your essay. Are you happy?

- Thesis statement = jouw stelling

- Supporting detail = bewijs uit een artikel
