cognitive development

1. Stage 1 (0-2 years)

   • Babies explore using their senses
   • They're egocentric- they only see things from their point of view
   • At about 8 months they realise that objects they can't see still exist (object premanence)

2. Stage 2 (2-7 year)

   • still egocentric but know more about concepts like numbers and shape
   • they think that non living things have thoughts and feelings like us e.g there teddy is happy (animism)
