Flashcards
CSS Positioning and layout
Cards in this deck (3)
- 1Liquid/fluidtext permitted to reflow as required.
Advantages:
don't have to design for specific resolution
Avoid awkward empty space
spirit and nature of medium
Disadvantages:
large monitors, line length
Less prodictable pages
Percentage values - 2Fixedconstant grid, should know where it's fixed
if viewer's window not as wide, content won't be visible
Adv:
layout predictable
control over line length
might be trends but a lot of designers use this
Disadv :
content will be hidden if window too small
text elements will reflow if font size changes, doesn't guarantee will stay the same
lane lengths awkward at very large text sizes - 3Elasticlayout expands or contracts with size of the text. line lengths stay the same.
Adv :
consistent layout experience, flexible text size
tight control on line lengths
Disadv :
images don't get rescaled the same way
width of layout might exceed browser window but max-width will save your ass
