| Epithelial tissue | Tissue that covers other tissues and organs. |
| What is epidermis? | The upper or outer layer of the two main layers of cells that make up the skin. |
| Connective tissue | Connective tissue supports and binds other tissues of the body. Examples of connective tissue include adipose, cartilage, bone, tendons, and blood. |
| Muscle tissue | Muscle tissue is composed of cells that have the special ability to shorten or contract in order to produce movement of the body parts. |
| 3 types of muscle tissues | cardiac, smooth, and skeletal. |
| Cardiac muscle tissues | Cardiac muscles are the muscles of the heart. |
| Smooth muscle tissues | Found in the walls of hollow organs (liver, small intestine, stomach,ect). |
| Skeletal muscle tissues | Produces movement, maintains posture, stabilises joints and generates heat. |
| Nerve tissue | Sends electric signals around body. |

| What does vascular mean? | Relating to blood vessels. For example, the vascular system in the body includes all of the veins and arteries. |
| What is vascular tissue? | Vascular tissue is a complex conducting tissue, formed of more than one cell type, found in vascular plants. |
| The 2 vascular cells in a plant | Xylem and Phloem. |
| What does Xylem do? | Carries water from roots |
| What does Phloem do? | Carries glucose from leaves to other plants. |
