1. Proportions & Contour Outline.

   • You can fit eight heads into a human body.
     • This will help you with proportions of where the limbs shall be.
   • The button of your nose is the size width as your eye. This will help you with sketching.
     • Your mouth is the same length from one pupil to the other.

2. Meaning of:

   • Tone: It is the colour change from light to dark. You must need an accurate outline of your drawing.
   • Contour Lines: The outline of your drawing. Shape always matters when drawing. You always need the outline of your drawing to be accurate for it to look better.
   • Composition: The placement of your drawing. The composition could be on the left, right, bottom, top or centre of the page.
   • Proportion: The size of your drawing. The proportion of an average male adult's body should be seven and a half heads tall.

3. When drawing from a sample, draw what you see, not what you think you see!
