Chapter 3
3.1
- when graphing sin or cos, use the corresponding coordinate to the corresponding radian as the way to plot it. (Coordinate-y, radian-x)
- written out like a formula it is: f(x) = A*sine(B*theta+C)+D or g(x) = A*cosine(B*theta+C)+D.
- The period is 2π/B and is how long before the graph repeats itself.
- Amplitude is the absolute value of A
- Baseline: D
- Range: (D-absolute value of A, D + absolute value of A.)
- phase shift: -c/b
- Natural position = starting position
- cosine starts at the peak of the wave.
- sine starts at the valley of the wave.

3.2
- Graphing Tangent and Cotangent
- Use the points on the unit circle to determine the points you are graphing at
- When graphing Tan, x cannot equal xπ/2 where x is odd.
- When going right, tangent increases from -∞ to ∞
- Graphing Cotangent is the same, except xπ/2, x cannot be even. And Cotangent is decreasing from the left.
