ALGORITHM SEARCHES

1. LINEAR SEARCH

   • Computer starts at the top and checks every element until the search term is found.
   • Simple algorithm.
   • Slow on large lists.
   • Can be used on any list.

2. BINARY SEARCH

   • Check the middle value of the list, the depending on whether it's higher or lower than the search value, it eliminates half and tries again.
   • Very fast on large lists.
   • Only works if the data has been sorted.
