What were the Nazi's aims?
A strong Germany
- strong government to overturn the Treaty of Versailles
- strong army to make it a great military power (like before the war)
- strong thriving economy
- rearm Germany, possible war against France
A racial Germany
- Aryan race: blond and blue-eyed
- racially pure Germany
- getting rid of racial minorites = Jews by:
- removing them from positions of powers
- hounding them out of the country
- isolation from Aryans
People's Community
- wanted all 'racially pure' Germans to feel they were part of the Volk
- loyalty to the German people, Fuhrer and Germany
- all other claims on people's loyalities to be removed
- churches, political parties, swimming clubs and choirs would be dissolved or taken over by Nazis
- no room for free speech - conversations would be controlled
