RAM is the most common
type of memory for
hardware such as a
computer.
RAM is a fast temporary type of memory. It is
how programs, applications, and data are stored.
For example the operating system, applications
and GUI are all stored on the RAM.
ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
Things saved in the ROM can not be
changed by a program or user.
Even when the computer
turns off it retains the
information. Therefore, the ROM is nonvolatile.
The ROM contains the
instructions of what to
do for example when the computer
is turned on after being
shut down.
Ram loses data when
the computer turns off.
The RAM is volatile data because the
content is lost when the power is
switched off.
