  1. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language

    • HTML describes the structure of a web page
      • HTML consists of a series of elements
        • HTML elements tell the browser how to display the content
          • HTML elements are represented by tags
            • HTML tags label pieces of content such as "heading", "paragraph", "table", and so on
              • Browsers do not display the HTML tags, but use them to render the content of the page
                • Example of HTML
                  • https://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_default
  2. Used to create web documents

    • These can have videos, images and text
  3. WWW

    • World wide web
    • A collection of all the websites around the world
      • Stored on servers all around the world
  4. If you view a webpage...

    • The internet cannot use URLs, so you go to a DNS server to request the IP address, which the internet can read
      • You need the IP address for the DNS server. Without it, you cannot access the internet
        • This is an example of a DNS server IP address
      • This is the process
  5. We created our own websites

    • We chose a topic then used a template which we edited to make a unique website
      • After a few weeks we had created a four page website with images and custom colours and text.
        • Here is the index page of my website - BeekeeperMe
