1. Headline

   • Written in present tense
   • Emotive language
   • Allieration
   • Pun
   • Can use colloquial language

2. Body

   • 3rd person narrartion (except for quotes)
   • Typically written in past tense (unless describing current situation)
   • Tone= objective and factual
   • Language is formal
   • Dramatic words used to make the story seem sensational

3. Quotes

   • Use emotive and colloquial language
   • May be written in past or present text
   • Direct speech put in quotation marks
   • Indirect speech also used (Mr Brown said....)
