Specific Job Training

Training is important for new and existing employees

Induction training is training for new employees. It must involve health and safety.

In-house training is training that usually happens within the work place.

A method of in-house training is being shown how by experienced colleagues.

A disadvantage of in-house training is an employee may not be good at demonstrating or explaining to a new recruit.

An advantage of in-house training is that it is cheap and does not cost anything for travel.

Off-the-job training is training that takes employees away from their normal work place.

An advantage of off-the-job training is that experts can be used.

A disadvantage of off-the-job training is trainees are not learning to work as part off the team that they eventually will be working with.

A method of external training is day release from work to attend college.
