- Volcanoes
- Today me and my group memebers will be discusing a project about Volcanoes. You might be thinking what is a volcano, well it is a high mountain or hill which has molten lava in it, it then gets boiled up and explodes which cause a huge destruction.
-
- Volcanoes are mountains. But unlike most mountains in the world they are formed from folding continental plates, uplift and erosion, volcanoes are created when material from inside the Earth escapes to the surface.
-
- Volcanoes are formed when magma from within the Earth's upper mantle works its way to the surface. At the surface, it erupts to form lava flows and ash deposits. Over time as the volcano continues to erupt, it will get bigger and bigger.
-
- Beneath the crust is a vast region called the Earth’s mantle. The mantle is made up of molten rock called magma. At the boundaries between continental plates, volcanic vents can open up, where magma and gasses from inside the Earth can escape.
-
- A volcano is a vent or chimney which transfers molten rock known as magma from depth to the Earth's surface. Magma erupting from a volcano is called lava and is the material which builds up the cone surrounding the vent. Volcanoes are one of the most interesting natural disaster.
