Maria was watching the waves as they hit the boats in the bay. She noticed that they made a complete up and down vibration cycle in 8 seconds. The boats where 20 meters apart, and when one boat was at a high position, the other was at a low. Find the wavelength, the frequency and the speed of the waves

Solve the following problem

1. Frequency

f = \(\frac{n}{t}\) = \(\frac{1}{8}\) = 0.125 Hz

2. Wavelength

\(\frac{λ}{2}\) = 20.

λ = 40m

3. Speed

v = fλ = (.125)(40) = 5m/s
