About Verbs and Conjugation

GoConqr Original

What you will find

The resources on this page are made by GoConqr users and cover verbs in many languages. Irish is well represented, with the Aimsir Chaite mind map on the past tense, the irish verbs future tense flashcards and the notes on MODH COINNÍOLLACH. Welsh has Welsh Tenses and Welsh Past Tense Phrases. There are also decks for Scottish Gaelic irregular verbs, Dutch, Indonesian, Arabic and Sanskrit.

Asian-language verbs

Japanese and Korean have plenty of material. The Basic Korean Verbs deck lists verbs such as 하다, 가다 and 먹다. The Korean Verb Conjugation Test 1 quiz asks you to complete polite request forms. For Japanese, try the Basic Japanese Verb Test-1 quiz, the Japanese Verb Forms mind map and the notes on the て form. Genki Grammar 5-6 gives full sentences to read and recall.

Where to start

  1. Choose the language you are studying and open a flashcard deck of basic verbs.
  2. Open a mind map for that language to see how the tenses or forms fit together.
  3. Take a quiz to test what stuck.
  4. Go back to the cards for the verbs you missed.

Using quizzes and maps together

A mind map such as Welsh Tenses shows the pattern for present, perfect and past forms. A quiz then makes you produce the forms yourself. If you get one wrong, return to the branch of the map that covers it. Teachers can set a deck for vocabulary and a quiz for checking, using the same language throughout.

Where it sits

This unit belongs to the Grammar strand of Other languages (Catalan, Galician, Basque, Romanian, Asian...). It focuses on verbs, so pair it with other grammar units when you need nouns or sentence structure. Pick one resource today and see where it takes you.

Frequently asked questions

Which resource should I start with?

Start with a flashcard deck in your language, such as Basic Korean Verbs or Verbs and Verb Conjugation. Learn the verbs first, then open a mind map to see the patterns, and finish with a quiz. That order lets you check what you remember before moving on.

Which languages are covered?

The listed resources include Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Welsh, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Indonesian, Arabic, Hebrew, Sanskrit, Telugu, Afrikaans and Thai. Some languages have many resources, others only one or two, so check the titles for yours.

What do the mind maps cover?

They set out tenses and verb forms as branches. Examples include Aimsir Chaite for the Irish past tense, Welsh Tenses, Japanese Irregular Verb Conjugation and the て-Form maps. They suit a quick overview before you try a quiz.

Are the resources free to use?

Yes. Every resource listed here is free to open, study and take, with no account needed. They were made by GoConqr users, not by GoConqr itself. A free account also saves your quiz scores and lets you make your own quizzes, mind maps, flashcards and notes.

Can I test myself on conjugation?

Yes. The Korean Verb Conjugation Test 1 quiz asks you to fill in polite request forms, and Basic Japanese Verb Test-1 checks verb meanings. There are also quizzes on Dutch separable verbs, Sanskrit present forms and Irish past-tense verbs.

What if my language or verb is missing?

Try a nearby resource first, since patterns often carry over, such as the Irish and Welsh tense maps. If nothing fits, you can build your own flashcards or mind map with a free account and use it for your own revision.
