1. MULTISTORE MODEL

   • Visual,Acoustic and sematic information goes into sensory memory. when the information is given attention it enters the STM which is then rehearsed. when rehearsed it enters the LTM. information can be lost at any stage.

     • PRIMACY EFFECT: Ps tend to recall the first few words in the list because it is rehearched and has enough time to enter the long term memory.
     • Asymptote: middle portion is poorly recalled because the number of items fill up the STM and displaced before reaching the LTM
     • RECENCY EFFECT: Ps tend to recall the last items on the list becuase no displacement
