  1. -Using (CGI) to create the burned skin on Harvey dent (Aaron Eckhart) face and removing parts of his cheek (for two face)

Cultural
1. Hostage Taking
  1. Joker's hostage tapes shot in similar style to Taliban & ISIS hostage tapes
  2. Fits with Nolan's aim to make the film realistic and the dark tone.
2. The Police
  1. Police and SWAT uniforms recognisable as being North American.
  2. The police are corrupt for the most part - helps batman to be accepted and Commissioner Gordon represents the hero.
Anchorage
1. Exposition
  1. Used to clarify narrative.
  2. The nature of the motive behind the Joker's actions, then they are given the explanation.
2. Music
  1. Music is used throughout the exposition and rising action to signal who the Joker is -
  2. The stinger chord is played every-time the joker is in a scene.
  3. Music also used to convey feelings of characters throughout.
