1. Baddeley's Working Memory Model

   • Central executive
     • In control of other components, supervisory, storage capacity
   • Phonological loop
     • Articulatory control system + phonological store, input from long term memory (LTM)
   • Visuo-spatial sketchpad
     • Stores and manipulates colours and shapes (visual and spatial information)
   • Episodic buffer
     • links in relation to time and order - episodic long term memeory storage

2. Different types of memory

   • Episodic memory
     • Autobiographical events - times, places, associated emotions
   • Semantic memory
     • Concepts, facts, rules, no sensory element, knowledge of the world
   • Procedural memory
     • Implicit, motor skills

3. Anterograde vs retrograde amnesia

   • anterograde - new memories cannot be formed after trauma
   • retrograde - lost memories that happened before trauma
