What is a gene? A gene is a short piece of DNA that codes for a specific protein.You have genes for hair structure,eye colour,enzymes an every other protein in our body.
Cell membrane? Cytoplasm? Controls what enters and leaves the cell, eg oxygen,carbon dioxide,glucose. Jelly-like substance that fills the cell - many reactions take place here.
Nucleus? Mitochondria? A large structure that contains DNA instructions for the building and working of the cell. (Single mitochondrion) - tiny structures where respiration takes place, releasing energy for cell processes.
What are bacterial cells? Bacteria have a simple cell structure.Like animal and plant cells, they have a cell membrane surrounding the cytoplasm.but they do not have a nucleus.
