- 4Step FamilyWhen one or both people in a couple with children from a previous relationship remarry, cohabit. They can be difficult to establish.
- 5Single-Parent FamilyIs usually a mother and her children, not always the case.
- 6Shared Care FamilyChildren live in 2 households and spend time with both parents. They can maintain relationship with both parents and joint decisions are made.
- 7Adoptive FamilyProvide a permanent home for the child. They are given same legal rights and responsibilities as birth parents.
