Question Answer
What are the three basic properties that most metals hold? 1) Strong 2) Bendy 3) Good at conducting
What three things make transition metals useful for everyday uses? 1) Strength and malleable means they can be made into bridges or cars etc. 2) Heat travels well through them- for saucepans 3) Conductivity makes them useful for electrical wires
Describe why copper is useful. It is a good conductor of electricity, so it's ideal for drawing out into electrical wires. It's hard and strong and doesn't bend, but it also doesn't react with water
Describe why Aluminium is useful. Its corrosion-resistant and has low density. It can from hard strong alloys
Describe why Titanium is useful. Its low density, very strong and corrosion resistant
