Flowchart nodes

  • Centrioles: - an important part of mitosis
  • Nucleolus: - synthesizes ribosomal RNA rRNA
  • Nucleus: - contains DNA which is organized into chromosomes
  • Golgi Apparatus: - proteins produced in the endoplasmic reticulum are sent here. This organelle send proteins to other places in the cell depending on where they need to go
  • Endoplasmic Reticulum outer membrane on nucelar membrane is continous with this organelle -site of protein synthesis: mRNA is translated here
  • Nuclear membrane
  • Lysosome: - when cellular compnents are no longer functional, they come here to be broken down into more basic compnents that can be reused to build new proteins
  • Mitochondria: - site of cellular respiration where clucose is converted into ATP to provide energy for the cell
  • Ribosomes: - translates mRNA during protein synthesis
