Nucleus:
- contains DNA which is organized into chromosomes
Golgi Apparatus:
- proteins produced in the endoplasmic reticulum are sent here. This organelle send proteins to other places in the cell depending on where they need to go
Endoplasmic Reticulum
outer membrane on nucelar membrane is continous with this organelle
-site of protein synthesis: mRNA is translated here
Nuclear membrane
Lysosome:
- when cellular compnents are no longer functional, they come here to be broken down into more basic compnents that can be reused to build new proteins
Mitochondria:
- site of cellular respiration where clucose is converted into ATP to provide energy for the cell
Ribosomes:
- translates mRNA during protein synthesis
