    1. Acute: hypothalamus, sympathetic branch of ANS, adrenal medulla, adrenaline, fight or flight
      1. Chronic: hypothalamus, releases CRF, pituitary gland, releases ATCH, adrenal cortex, sugar for energy
      2. If stress persists: damage to adrenal gland, immune suppression, increase risk of CHD
        1. When stress is gone
          1. hypothalamus, activates parasympathetic brand of ANS, adrenal medulla stops adrenaline, heart rate breathing, rate and blood pressure returns to normal
