Theories and Evidence
Theory is a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
- system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
The evidence is to support the theory so that it makes sense to people who read the theory.
- system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
the evidence will explain and support the theory and that means that the theory will look real or it will be real
The theory is like a person in trouble then the evidence is like a lawyer that is trying to support the guy in trouble
- It is common practice to place data into tables. There is a difference between a good table and a bad table. A good table will: Have the independent variable on the left The dependent variable on the right Will be drawn in pencil with a ruler Will have the units in brackets Measurements will have the same number of significant figures. Will usually include repeats.
Variables are something that can change in an experiment. We group variables into three types:Dependent variables – This is the variable a scientist measures, observes or counts in an experiment Independent variables – This is a variable a scientist will change in an experiment Control variables – These are variables a scientist will keep the same in an experiment
- Line graphs are used to represent data where both the dependent and independent variable are continuous.
