1. A data base is a persistent and organised store of data.They can be on paper or on the computer.

2. Paper

   • Advantages
     • Paper is extremely easy to access as you don't need to log into an account or to have any technical knowledge.
     • Paper is cost effective as well because you wouldn't need to pay money to buy a : computer,storage etc.
     • Paper also doesn't need to charge up all the time therefore it wouldn't run out of battery.
   • Disadvantages
     • To get paper you would need to cut down trees, which would affect the environment.However, any trees that are cut down to create paper are replanted, so really no trees are lost.
     • If you wanted to update the data then you would have to completely re-write the sheet of paper, whereas on a computer you could just go back and only delete the bits you want to delete.

   • Disadvantages
     • Sometimes, people who are not great with computers will struggle to work the technical devices, so for them, paper would be easier.
     • Sometimes, computers aren't easily accessable as they require passwords and usernames to enter them.By using paper it is more efficent.
     • People can easily hack into your data and use your information whereas with paper you can hide it somewhere where people won't find it, or you can keep the paper with you.
     • It costs a lot of money because it requires updates, help if it's broken as well as it uses a lot of electricity, which all costs a lot of money.
