his advice was difficult to follow but helped children to think for themselves('shoot all the blue..')

doesn't teach his childrens the racist ways(unaware of them)

treats calpurnia well(trusts her)

treats all black people with respect(courtcase)

accepts the courtcase job even though he knows he will be hassled('i couldn't tell you..')

defends tom al the way

even when he loses he tells tom not to give up hope

he was ok with cal bringing his children to black church

well respected(morla backbone of maycomb)

determined(to win court case)

stands for equality and justice(courtcase)

tries not to judge people(cunninghams)

looks after children even though single and a lawyer
