- 1What are variables?The word variable means changeable. Variables are input data that can be changed within a model.
- 2What is Formulae?Formulae are calculations. They are used to perform calculations on variables and to produce results that are the outcomes of the model
- 3What are functions?Functions are more complex calculations. They are represented by reserved words within spreadsheet software such as SUM,IF and AVERAGE.
- 4What are rules?Rules define a model. Within a spreadsheet, functions and formulae are both rules, a set of these together can also be a rule.
- 5What is a cell?A cell is a location on a worksheet where a single item of data can be entered.
- 6What is a worksheet and a workbook?Worksheets are spreadsheets which consist of rows and columns of cells.
A workbook is a set of worksheets. - 7What is relative cell referencing?A relative cell reference is are used in formulae and functions to make reference to another cell. A relative cell reference is one which is relative to the position of the cell which contains the formula or function.
- 8What is an absolute cell reference?An absolute cell reference is a cell reference which points to an exact cell.
