1. ADVANTAGE

   • QUICK AND CHEAP : Large amount of data can be collected fairly quickly . questionaires are quick and cheap compared to any other method
   • REPLICATION: Easy to replicate as they use standardised questions, this means they are more reliable and are easily assesed and established
   • LARGE SAMPLES they can be done without the reseracher being their therfore they can gain large samples , making the method reliabe and representative
   • both quantitative and qualitative data can be collected , quantitative

2. DISADVANTAGE

   • SOCIAL DESIRABILITY :PPS may want to make themselves look good and therfore try to decieve the researcher or exaggerate
   • BAISED SAMPLE ;questionaires are suitable for people who are willing to spend time and complete them , certain groups of people are more willing than others this creates a biased sample
   • MISUNDERSTANDING: Pps may not understand the questions and there is no one to explain it for them, this can result in two things either the pps misses out the question or just picks any answer this reduces the vaidity of the results
   • ethical issues : any information that pps give is confidential , pps also have the right to withdraw
