3. Memory Storage

   • Long Term Memory
     • Holds a vast amount of information for a long time
   • Short Term Memory
     • holds approximately seven (+/- 2) chunks of information for a limited amount of time

4. The model is supported by evidence from real life situations, supporting its ecological validity, meaning it can be applied to every day life

   • H.M. - removal of Hippocampus to cure epilepsy (gone wrong)
     • Supporting the idea there are separate stores
       • Other evidence of separate stores are the Primary and Recency Effects

5. Most of the medical evidence are conducted in artificial environments - losing ecological validity

   • Experiment would not be carried out in daily life - can not apply to every day life
   • Interference tasks reduced the chances of rehearsal before recall

6. Model is too simple and does not explain the stores in further depth or why information is stored there. It describes the stores as fixed structures, which are later argued against in illnesses such as dementia and amnesia
