Flowchart
Cardiac Cycle
Flowchart content
Deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from the inferior and superior vena cava
Blood passes through the right atrioventricular valve int the right ventricle.
Blood pushed through the right semi lunar valve into the pulmonary artery and out of the heart to the lungs to collect oxygen
Oxygenated blood travels through the pulmonary vein and into the left atrium.
Passes through the left atrioventricular valve and into the left ventricle.
From the left ventricle it passes through the left semi lunar valve and into the aorta out of the heart
Travels around the body and distributes oxygen before the deoxygenated blood returns through the vena cava
Pressure and volume increases in the atrium and forces the AV valve open
Pressure and volume increases in the ventricle and becomes higher than in the atrium and forces the AV valve closed and the SL valve open.
Pressure is higher in the pulmonary artery than in the ventricle and forces the SL valve closed
Pressure and volume increases in the atrium and forces the AV valve open
Pressure and volume becomes higher in the ventricle than in the atrium and forces the AV valve open and the SL valve closed
Pressure is higher in the aorta than in the ventricle and forces the SL valve closed.
