1. Alphonso XIII was crowned in 1902

   • He wanted to make very deep reforms. REGENERATION.
     • He interved directly in politics

2. Different political parties

   • The other political parties didn´t have any chance to govern
   • Conservative Party
     • Antonio Maura
       • He led the goverment between 1905 and 1909
   • Liberal Party
     • José Canalejas

3. Antonio Maura promoted the naval industry

4. Strike was regulated

5. A new Electoral Law was created to end manipulation

6. The "Instituto Nacional de Previsión" was created in 1908

7. Tragic Week

   • July 1909 in Barcelona
     • To protest against the recruiting for the Moroccan War

8. Pablo Iglesias

   • The leader of the PSOE became the first elected socialist deputy (1910)

9. José Canalejas

   • Got the goverment (1909-1912)
     • It planned an autonomous goverment for Catalonia
   • Was assassinated by an Anarchist in 1912

10. Eduardo Dato governed (1915)

11. Spain was neutral during WWI

    • There was economic prosperity
