Now live in a society of risk where tradition has less influence on people's lives and people have a free choice of how to live.
Eg. in the past people were expected to be married early in life to a suitable candidate, but now people are individualistic - motivated by their own goals.
This has led to the negotiated family which does not conform to traditional family norm, but varies according to the wishes and expectations of their members who decide what is best for themselves by negotiation.
