Atomic Structure

  1. Shells

    • The first shell can only have 2 electrons. Then after that the max each shell can have is 8.
    • Completed outer shells mean it is a noble gas. Therefore it is not reactive.
      • As it has 8 electrons to create a whole shell. Which means it is really stable
    • The centre is the nucleus which contains protons and nuetrons. There is always the same amount of proton as there is nuetrons.
  2. Charge and Mass

    • Proton
      • Positive
      • 1
    • Nuetron
      • No charge
      • 1
    • Electron
      • Negative
      • Close to Zero (1/2000)
  3. Periodic Table

    • Group Number
      • Number of electrons
    • Period Number
      • Number of shells
