Homeostasis and Response

  1. Definition

    • Maintaining a stable Internal environment of the body as it attemps to regulate things such a temperature water leveks and others.
  2. Negative feedback Counteracts changes

    • Receptor detects a stimulus-level is too high, the coordination center recieves and porcesses this information and then organises a response, Effector produces a response which counteracts the change and restores the optimum level- the level decreases.
    • Receptor detects a stimulus- level is too low, the coordinator center receives and processes the information then organises a response, Effector produces a response which counteracts the change and restores the optimum level- the level increases.
  3. What are Effectors?

    • The effector carry on producing the responce for as long as they're simulated by the coordination centre. This might causes the oppposite problem- making the level change too much (away from the idea). Luckily the receptor detects if the level becomes too different and the negative feedback response starts again.
