2. Human Participants

     • full info about level of dicomfort
     • remind of their right to withdraw
     • terminate if levels of discomfort are higher than expected

3. Animals

   • For
     • used when humans can't be.
     • greater control over variables
     • use several generations at once
     • anything may lead to new theories
     • humans & animals have things in common
     • Skinner: Units of learning similar in higher species
   • Against
     • preparedness: some animals born prepared
     • insight learning
     • some behaviours are instinctive to animals
     • language is unique to humans
