Sometimes words can be used in different contexts so in order to understand them you have to read “around the world.”

Sometimes to figure out what the context is by looking at the cause and effect of the sentence that the word is in.

Categories can be used to understand the meaning of a word also. You can connect two words in the same category together to find the meaning of the word in that scenario.

In some situations, you might need to explain to someone what your friend looks like. You may use comparing and contrasting to explain what the friend is like.

Analogies can also be used to show what something is like. Usually, analogies are used in stories to give them a deeper meaning.
