Content of the notes (6)
Page 1
LH and FSH
Hypothalamus --> GNRH --> AP --> FSH and LH --> gonads --> testes and ovaries
FSH --> maturation of ovarian follicle with LH (oestrogen production in females and sperm production in males
LH --> triggers ovlulation, formation of corpues luteum, oestrogen and progesterone production
Negative feedback
Page 2
Hypothalamus --> Thyrotropin releasing hormne --> AP --> TSH --> t3 and t4 at thyroid
t3 --> metabolism and increases energy
t4 --> converted into t4 in tissues
negative feedback
Page 3
Prolactin --> milk secretion (stimulates secretion)
Ejection of the milk you will require oxytocin (post pit)
Regulates prolactin via dopamine (inhibits prolactin secretion) and PRH (stimulates prolactin secretion)
Page 4
Hypothalamus --> GHRH--> Growth hormone (targets bone, skeletal muscle)
Page 5
Hypothalamus --> CRH --> AP --> ACTH --> adrenal cortex --> cortisol and other glucocorticoids
Excess release of CRH --> stimulate melanocyte stimulating hormone --> inhibited by dopamine
