  1. 1What is evolution?Evolution is the gradual change of species over generations.
  2. 2What did Darwin propose in relation to Nsel and Survival fittest?- Darwin argued that we have evolved through natural selection (all behavior is adaptive in order to suvive).
    - Those who fail to adapt will die and those who do will survive and pass on their genes to their offspring.
  3. 3What is the EEA?- The EEA is the environment of evolutionary adaptedness.
    - 100,000 to 2 million years ago the human brain began to evolving.
    - humans are adapted to the environment their ancestors faced.
  4. 4Why do humans have the instinct to survive?- They want to carry on their characteristics and genes to have children and grow their family so that their name and blood line lives on.
  5. 5What is adaptation? - Give an example- This is when a species has a particular characteristic that helps it to survive better to its environment, the adaptive gene is then passed on to their environment.
    - For example, long neck giraffes survived as they were able to reach leaves at the top of the canopy and passed on the characteristics on to the offspring but the short neck died out as they couldn't reach the food.
  6. 6How did biological preparedness help our ancestors to survive?- Our ancestors developed phobias which would have helped them to understand what was life threatening for them.
    - The phobia helped them to prepare if there was an encounter by either deciding to fight it or run away (fight or flight).
