Visual Perception
Contenido del diagrama
Stimulus energy - light electromagnetic energy
Reception - receptors in the eye detect and respond to light (cones in the eye respond to light)
Transduction - light is converted from electromagnetic energy to energy in the form of action potentials or neural impulses
Transmission - the neural impulses are sent to the brain via the optic nerve (the optic nerve exits the eye at the back of the retina)
The action potentials are received in the primary visual cortex and interpretation occurs in the brain throughout that area.
