1. This was the multi-store model created by Atkinson and Shiffrin. Murdock then created an experiment to try out their theory.

2. Procedure: 1. They were given a list of words and asked to remember them 2. The words were took way then the people in the experiment were asked to write the words they remembered.

3. Findings: People were most likely to remember either the first group of or the second group of words. This is called the serial position effect, this where if you rember the first group it is called the primary effect and if you remember the second group of words it is called the rececncy effect.
