1. Sensory Register

   • Temporarily stores information from our senses.
   • Unless we pay attention to it, it disappears quickly through spontaneous decay.
   • It has limited capacity and very limited duration ( we remember little information for a very short period of time.)
   • Coded depending on the sense- visual, auditory or tactile.

2. Short-Term Memory

   • Limited capacity and limited duration.
   • Coding is usually acoustic (sound).

3. Long-Term Memory

   • Unlimited capacity and is theoretically permanent.
   • Coding is usually semantic (the meaning of the information).
