• U.S.A ( came 1917)
• ~War was tough, 10 million dead.
• ~Worst battles of 1916 were Verdonne and the Somme ( 1 million dead alone )
• ~1917 U.S.A joined the Allies but troops only began arriving in 1918
• ~1917 Tsar Nicholas II overthrown by revolution
• ~ Rise of communism in Russia so bye bye war we has our own troubles.

• ~ Allied powers negotiated Peace Treaty in Paris.
• ~Europe was in shit, mass death and destruction all across Europa, millions of refugees, food shortages from farmers being soldiers and bombs, the Spanish flu was on a bloody killing spree, there was a huge threat of communism.
• ~So Europe needed to change man
• ~ Delagates wanted to put back the pieces
• ^ The Big Four ( U.S.A, FR., BRIT., ITL)
• ~Merica, Wooodrow Wilson wanted a fair and just Treaty
• believed that the boarders should be based on Self Determination
• wished to set up the U.N.
• ~Italy, Vittorio Orlando wanted land promised to Italy in the Treaty of London 1913
• felt they deserved it after 500,000 Italians died in war.
• ~Britain, David Lloyd George was more moderate with Germany although he was under pressure from home to be harsh
• main aim was to destroy German navy ( because it threatened them as an island ) and get compensation.
• ~France, George Clemanceau wanted to completely bash Germany and weaken them wanted a big 'ole dish of revenge.

June 1919 Treaty of Versailles

• ~Forced to War Guilt Clause and 6.6 billion yo-yo's in reparations
• ~Demilitarization for 15 years, especially near the Rhineland.
• ~Polish Corridor taken away
• ~Zaar region under internationalization for coal.
• ~Anschuluss banned ( union w/ Austria )
• ~Army reduced to 100,00 w/ no submarines or airforce
• ~ German colonies taken over by the League of Nations, known as Mandates.
• ~Being so harsh on Germany was stupid because the German economy went to fuckville and great hatred grew and BAM opportuinty for Hitler.

RUSSIA UNDER THE TARS

• ~Russia joined war in 1914 with Allies
• ~The world thought Russia was weird af but c'mon it's bloody huge so what could they do
• ~Ruled completely by Tsar Nico II, he was an autocrat, so he made all dem decisions
• ~ His fam was in power for ages lol so they didnt want to share any power and didnt agree with a parliment elected by the peeps
• ~ ppls were v unhappy with his ruling, cities expanding, bad pay, peasants poor and illiterate
• ~1905 Nico agreed to the formation of the DUMA cuz there was revolutions springing into action
