Question Answer
what type of system is this? + list the components of the following system.
what does r stand for what does U stand for r----set-point(required temperature), u----= control variable),
what does d stand for what does y stand for d----disturbance, y----system output(variable to be controlled).
what is a: plant actuator Plant: equipment or a machine, a room, a tank, etc. to be controlled. Actuator: equipment through which the control action is applied to the plant.
what is a controller? Controller: a designed component to generate a proper value to achieve the control task.
define what a Closed-loop control systems is a closed loop systems output is measured and fed back to compare with the set-point. The error is given to the controller to control the plant. In this way the effects of disturbance on the plant output can be compensated.
what is: Set-point tracking system + Regulation System Set-point tracking system: the objective is to control the system output such that it tracks the set-point. (aka servo system) Regulation System: the set-point is constant, while the system output is to be maintained at the constant set-point against disturbance.
what is the design procedure? 1. Modelling the plant. 2. Determine the control system structure. 3. Select the hardware such as actuators, sensors, signal conditional circuits, computer interface, etc. to form the control system. 4. Design the controller. 5. Tuning the control system to achieve the performance criteria.
what is a static system? Static systems: When system input has a sudden change, its output changes immediately to its corresponding value
what is a Dynamic system? Dynama dynamic system, its output will gradually, rather than immediately, change in responding to a sudden change in the input, and the change will last for a period of time.
how can you easily tell is a system is dynamic or static? if the system involves the energy-storing components. the system is dynamic.
what are the three zones of this dynamic response system?
draw a closed loop system of a radiator system, containing, a controller, a radiator, cold air, a room and a thermometer.
when laplace transforming if the function is defined as F(t) the laplace transform is ..? F(s)
when laplace transforming if the function is defined as G(t) the laplace transform is ..? G(s)
what is the laplace transformation for U(s)? u= unit step funcrion 1 / s
laplace transformation of exponentional function G(s) converts to ? 1 / s+a
