Cards in this deck (14)
- 1what does volatile mean?data will be lost if not saved properly
- 2what is cache memory?Cache memory is random access memory that a computer can access more quickly than it can access regular RAM.
- 3what is virtual memory?Virtual memory is when there is several programmes running at the same time and the RAM is struggling to deal with all the demands. it is temporary storage in the hard disk drive but can be easily moved back into ram when needed.
- 4name something in computing that will help someone with disabilities?foot mouse, eye typer, braille keyboard,speakers/microphone,puff/suck switch.
- 5what is clock speed?how many and how fast the computer can carry out instructions
- 6True or False Rom holds the start up informationTrue
- 7TRUE or FALSE Rom is volatileFalse
- 8what are logic gates?A logic gate is an elementary building block of a digital circuit. Most logic gates have two inputs and one output.
- 9what does the virtual memory process prevent?the computer crashing.
- 10in a AND gate if both inputs are 1 what will the output be?1
- 11in a AND gate if the inputs are 0 and 1 what will be the output?0
- 12what does a not gate do?takes one bit as input and gives the opposite as an output
- 13in a or gate iff both inputs are 0 the output would be............?0
- 14in a or gate if the inputs are 1 and 0 the output would be.......?1
