Deviation from social norms Behaviour that is seen as being different from the unstated rules in society. The 'norms' are created by social groups of people - cultural relativity (implicit e.g. unwritten rules and explicit e.g. formal rules such as the law)
Examples of DFSN 1.) being polite - it is unacceptable to laugh at a funeral/cause disruption in public 2.) England, it's abnormal to avoid eye contact when speaking to people. Korea, it's considered deviant to meet their eyes in conversation.
Deviation from ideal mental health Associated with happiness and competence. The absence of positive attitude an accurate perception of reality.

Example of DFIMH Not being able to cope in a situation, so has a panic attack (The sufferer maybe unaware that they are "abnormal"
Failure to function adequately Does not appear to be coping with everyday life or carrying out normal tasks. The person must be showing signs of distress as well. (Function is assessed using the GAF).
Examples of FTFA Lacks hygiene Not washing clothes Not getting out of bed until after midday
Statistical infrequency Behaviours which are rare (less common)
Examples of SI In the UK, there is an average IQ range of 85-115. Anyone who has an IQ above or below the average range is seen as statistically infrequent due to its rareness
